Laura Fitzgibbon joined Farrar’s Building as a tenant in October 2017, upon successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Howard Cohen, Matthew Kerruish-Jones and Andrew Wille.

During pupillage (practising and non-practising), Laura gained experience across the spectrum of Chambers’ personal injury law practice and in a range of areas of other civil and criminal areas of law including: health and safety prosecutions; death by careless/dangerous driving; employment law; and credit hire.

Laura appears in court on a daily basis on a variety of matters. She is keen to develop her practice in line with Chambers’ areas of expertise.

Personal Injury

Laura appears in court regularly in a range of personal injury matters including Stage 3 hearings, and trials and applications on both the small claims track and the fast track.

During pupillage, Laura gained experience observing and drafting pleadings and advices in a range of complex personal injury litigation, for both Claimants and Defendants.

She is willing to consider accepting instructions on a CFA.

Employment

During pupillage Laura gained experience in a range of employment law matters. Recently, she has advised a pro-bono client in a claim concerning unpaid wages. Laura is keen to develop her practice in this area.

General Common Law

During pupillage Laura assisted with research in a matter involving the complex interpretation of a clause in a share purchase agreement. She has also drafted pleadings relating to contractual disputes. Laura is keen to develop her practice in this area.

Credit Hire

Laura regularly appears in court for both Claimants and Defendants in credit hire matters and is well versed in the case law and in the regular issues that arise.

Crime

While under the supervision of Matthew Kerruish-Jones during pupillage, Laura gained experience in a range of health and safety law prosecutions and in death by dangerous/careless driving cases. Laura welcomes the opportunity to develop her practice in this area.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys a variety of sports and fitness classes including running, Zumba and yoga.
