Members of Farrar's Building are conscious of their clients' need for cost-effective solutions to their problems and are experienced in dispute resolution procedures outside the mainstream court process. These range from round table settlement negotiations to more formal means of alternative dispute resolution.

For many years members have both chaired and represented clients in arbitrations and in mediations, and in sector-specific disputes procedures.

Ian Ridd is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Grant Goodlad a Member of that Institute.

Members of Farrar's Building have particular experience in disputes within the Sports sector where Gerard Elias QC is Chairman of Sport Resolutions UK and of the England & Wales Cricket Board's independent Cricket Discipline Commission. Patrick Harrington QC sits as both a Chairman and a Panel Member of the National Anti-Doping Panel.

Farrar's Building mediators are experienced in mediating most areas of civil dispute and there is a range of experience and cost suited to the value and complexity of a case.

Farrar's Building mediators are included in the Bar Council List of Barrister Mediators which includes those who have completed 30 or more mediations.

Mediators within chambers include:

• John Leighton Williams QC, (Cedr accredited), a former member of the Court of Appeal mediation scheme, happy to mediate any non-family dispute and with a particular interest in personal injury and clinical negligence.
  
• Ian Ridd (ADR Chambers), who specialises in the mediation of commercial, insurance and employment disputes
• John Meredith-Hardy, Peter Freeman and Rhiannon Jones (All Regents College), all respected in their particular area of personal injury
• Grant Goodlad (Cedr), accredited in 1996 and a member of the Civil Mediation Council, a number of mediation provider panels and a trainer of mediators.

Farrar's premises in the Inner Temple contain conference rooms and video conferencing facilities enabling chambers to provide in house facilities for mediations or round table meetings in which members of chambers are involved.
