Alan's practice involves a large proportion of catastrophic injury cases, with a concentration on brain damage. Complex causation (both clinical and factual), highway authorities, statutory breach, accident reconstruction, diving, and mechanical defect issues are all areas of particular interest. Recent instructions have included the interface between funding by the tortfeasor and by statutory authorities, borderline Court of Protection status in a brain injured claimant, a fatal claim seeking £24 million, and several periodical payments issues.
