Farrar's Building: Personal Injury
Personal Injury

"Boasting an impressive number of leading silks, Farrar's Building is a set that is "professional and easy to deal with"." - Chambers UK 2010

Farrar's Building has one of the strongest Personal Injury practices at the Bar. We have four of the leading London silks in this field; John Leighton Williams QC, Alan Jeffreys QC, Ian Murphy QC and Jonathan Watt-Pringle QC together with a strong contingent of junior counsel.

We have been instructed in a significant number of the leading cases over the last decade - Wells v Wells, Heil v Rankin, Babcock International Limited v National Grid (Fairchild Mesothelioma Appeals), Callery v Gray and Sarwar v Alam.

We have also been instructed and appeared in the Ladbroke Grove, Paddington and Hatfield rail disaster inquiries.

This is the largest field of practice for Chambers as a whole. We are involved in the whole spectrum of cases from very serious catastrophic injury claims to straightforward small track claims. We cover all aspects of personal injury work, from road traffic accidents, including mechanical defect and causation issues, accidents at work, "slips and trips" and other public liability work, injuries caused by defective products, disaster and disease litigation.

Members appear for both claimants and defendants. We are instructed by a number of insurers, large and small, as well as undertaking a considerable volume of work funded either privately or under conditional fee agreements.

Our personal injury practice group has a thriving seminar and lecture programme and publishes a monthly Personal Injury Update which is sent out electronically and available on our website.
