Laura has a busy practice in line with Chambers’ areas of expertise, with particular emphasis on personal injury and clinical negligence.

Laura appears in court most days, in interim hearings and trials on all tracks.

She has a busy paperwork practice, drafting pleadings and providing advice on liability and quantum.

Personal Injury

Personal injury work makes up the greater part of Laura’s practice. She is regularly instructed in trials and interim hearings, including CCMCs, on all tracks. Her practice spans a range of personal injury work including road traffic accidents, employers’ liability and public liability claims. She has considerable experience of cases where fundamental dishonesty is alleged.

 

 

General Common Law

Laura’s practice often encompasses issues of general common law, for example claims for diminution in value and for loss of use.

Credit Hire

Laura regularly appears in court for both Claimants and Defendants in trials and hearings involving credit hire. She is well versed in the case law and is experienced in dealing with both regular and unusual issues that arise.

Civil Fraud

Laura’s practice routinely includes cases where fundamental dishonesty is alleged, most commonly in LVI cases where the resultant allegation is that the alleged injuries are fabricated or exaggerated. She also has experience of cases where fraud is alleged in respect of the circumstances of the accident, including induced collisions.

Laura is often instructed early on in matters to advise on prospects of a fundamental dishonesty or fraud allegation and to draft pleadings.

Clinical Negligence

Laura has a keen interest in clinical negligence. She is keen to continue to expand and develop her practice. Her experience includes cases: delayed and misdiagnosis claims; fatal accident claims arising from clinical negligence; dental negligence claims; and surgical errors. She has recently concluded a claim involving alleged clinical negligence in a prison setting.

Insurance

Laura regularly acts in RTA matters where there are insurance issues in play and is well versed in the relevant law.

Public Inquiries

Laura was instructed by the London Fire Brigade as a junior member of the team for the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.

Travel & International Law

Laura has experience representing parties in claims for compensation arising out of delayed/cancelled flights, pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 261/2004. She also has experience of advising and advocacy in cross-jurisdictional disputes. Laura is keen to develop her practice in travel and tourism law and welcomes instructions in claims involving a cross-jurisdictional element.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys going to the theatre, cooking and taking fitness classes including Zumba, yoga and spin. She is also a keen runner and cyclist.
