2018 – 2019

Peter Savory

Peter was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in July 2018, joined Chambers as a pupil in October 2018, and has been offered and accepted tenancy to begin in October 2019 upon the completion of his pupillage.

As a First Six pupil, under the supervision of Huw Davies and James Rozier, Peter had experience of Chambers’ core practice areas including personal injury, clinical negligence and employment. Peter’s training in his First Six  included credit hire matters, fast track trials, cases involving fundamental dishonesty, procedural applications, CCMCs and appeals.

As a Second Six pupil, under the continuing supervision of Changez Khan,  Peter welcomes instructions in all of Chambers’ areas of expertise. He has personally been instructed in cases including both fast track and small claims trials, credit hire matters, commercial disputes, Stage 3 hearings, infant approvals and a variety of applications. He has successful experience of analysing ‘black box’ vehicle data. He is also developing a paperwork practice and welcomes instructions to draft pleadings, advices on liability, quantum, points of law, costs and procedure.

Peter was awarded a First in Law from the Open University and undertook the BPTC at BPP where he was assessed as outstanding in a number of modules, including Personal Injury and International Trade. He received multiple scholarships and awards as listed below.

Oliver May

Oliver was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in July 2018, and joined Chambers as a pupil in October 2018.

During the first four months of his pupillage Oliver will be under the supervision of Matthew Kerruish-Jones and Lee Evans, and will experience a wide range of Chambers’ practice areas including personal injury, clinical negligence, employment, inquests and crime.

Before beginning his legal studies Oliver was a budding economist and spent 14 months as a Research Assistant at the Bank of England. Oliver converted to law by studying the GDL part-time while working as a Private Tutor, predominantly teaching undergraduate economics. While studying the BPTC part-time he worked for the Bar Standards Board, initially as the Senior Policy Officer for Equality and Diversity and then as the Legal and Policy Officer in the Strategy and Policy department.

During his studies Oliver engaged in debating and mooting with his law school and with the Inner Temple. Oliver was Treasurer of the Inner Temple Debating Society in 2015/16 and President in 2016/17, and represented the Inner Temple at the European University Debating Championship 2016 and the World University Debating Championship 2017.
