At Farrar’s Building, we recognise the need to resolve disputes efficiently and cost-effectively. Our members are highly experienced in all forms of ADR, including joint settlement meetings, mediation, arbitration and adjudication, and are regularly instructed to resolve complex disputes outside the court process.

The increasing role of ADR in modern litigation, reinforced by the Court of Appeal’s decision in James Churchill v Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, means early and effective engagement in non-court-based resolution is now central to many cases. Our members provide clear, strategic advice on when and how ADR can best be deployed to achieve a successful outcome.

Members act both as advocates and as neutrals across a wide range of ADR forums and sector-specific procedures. Several hold judicial appointments as Deputy District Judges, Recorders and Assistant Coroners, bringing valuable insight, authority and perspective to the resolution process.

We offer both mediation and arbitration services across the full spectrum of civil disputes and at all levels of value and complexity. Our mediators are accredited by leading bodies including CEDR and ADR-ODR, and are experienced in managing sensitive, high-value and multi-party disputes. Members acting as arbitrators or early neutral evaluators draw on extensive advocacy and quasi-judicial experience to deliver clear, practical and commercially focused outcomes.

Our fully accessible premises in the Inner Temple provide a professional setting for ADR, with dedicated conference rooms and video conferencing facilities to support both in-person and hybrid mediations and settlement meetings.
