Kimberley enjoys a broad civil and commercial practice representing both claimants and defendants.

Her work has a personal injury focus, however she has experience and accepts instructions in regulatory, property and contractual disputes. Further she has experience in related areas including insurance and fraud. 

Kimberley is an experienced advocate who has a busy court practice, appearing in court on an almost daily basis. She is regularly instructed for final hearings on the fast track and multi-track. Further Kimberley has vast experience in interlocutory hearings such as application hearings, CMCs and CCMCs. 

Kimberley maintains a paperwork practice and accepts drafting instructions across her areas of practice, with experience in both advisory work as well as the drafting of statements of case, advices and applications.  

Prior to joining Farrar’s Building, Kimberley completed pupillage at the self-employed bar before practising at the employed bar for the international law firm DWF Law LLP; she is therefore used to working closely with instructing solicitors in order to reach the best outcomes for clients from the start to conclusion of a claim. 

Kimberley is qualified to accept instructions from members of the public under the Public Access Scheme.

Commercial

Prior to pupillage, Kimberley worked as an Ombudsman where she worked with both retailers and consumers to resolve legal disputes. Further, whilst working an in-house Advocate with DWF, Kimberley was seconded to BT, working within their legal department dealing with consumer disputes. Kimberley has continued to build her practice at the Bar in contractual and consumer rights disputes.

Kimberley is regularly instructed both for drafting and court work in relation to money claims and contractual disputes. Recent work has included claims arising from disputes between consumers and businesses, defending a building company against allegations of poor workmanship and a dispute regarding the transportation of goods.

Kimberley has experience of dealing with consumer credit disputes, in particular her recent work has included PPI and vehicle finance matters.

Kimberley has experience in landlord and tenant issues, in particular possession matters.

Insurance

Kimberley is regularly instructed by insurers in claims involving RTA insurance cover and recovery of monies.

Kimberley undertakes a significant volume of credit hire litigation acting regularly for both claimants and defendants. She is well versed in credit hire issues and the relevant case law.

Personal Injury

Kimberley has a strong personal injury practice and is regularly instructed in matters on behalf of claimants and defendants. Her experience is across the full range of areas including RTAs, employer’s liability, public liability and Highways Act 1980. She appears in trials across all tracks, disposal and interim hearings. 

Kimberley regularly accepts instructions from claimants and defendants where there are issues of fraud and/or fundamental dishonesty in issue. Kimberley regularly advises on such issues in conference and/or in written advice. 

Kimberley also has a busy paperwork practice including the drafting of pleadings, schedules and advices on liability, quantum and tactics.  

Professional Discipline & Regulation

Kimberley has a growing interest and practice in regulatory and disciplinary law, recently acting for the NMC and ACCA.  She welcomes instructions to act for both regulators and professionals

Kimberley has experience in dealing with interim hearings as well as substantive multi-day hearings.

International & Travel

Kimberley has a keen interest in travel law, accepting instructions from both Claimants and Defendants. She welcomes instructions to advise from the early stages of litigation until the conclusion of the case at trial. 

Civil Fraud

Kimberley regularly accepts instructions from claimants and defendants where there are issues of fraud and/or fundamental dishonesty in issue. She is familiar with counter fraud strategies including causation disputes and organised fraud. 

Credit Hire

Kimberley is well versed in credit hire issues and the relevant case law, having acted regularly for both claimants and defendants.

  • ADR-ODR International accredited Civil Commercial Mediator (August 2018).
