A mini pupillage at Farrar’s Building offers you an opportunity to gain an impression of the work that we do and the atmosphere in chambers. It is also an opportunity for us to meet you.
We offer mini pupillages of 3 days, which are not formally assessed; they take place throughout the year on mutually convenient dates. During your time with us you will shadow barristers at court and in chambers. We try to ensure that at least some of your time is spent with the more junior members of chambers in order that you can gain a realistic view of life as a junior tenant. This also provides you with an opportunity to ask any questions you have about a career at the Bar. In past years the experience gained from a mini pupillage with us has typically enhanced a candidate’s application for pupillage at Farrar’s Building.
Applicants for mini pupillage should have begun or completed a course of higher education. We are unable to offer work experience for school children.

Mini Pupil
Vacancies
At present, applications are considered throughout the year as soon as possible after receipt.
Chambers hopes to facilitate mini pupillages ‘in person’ where ever possible but the continuation of remote hearings and various local Court restrictions may dictate that a mini pupillage adopts a ‘hybrid approach’, with some time spent physically in Chambers/going to Court, and some attendance virtually. Chambers aims to ensure that whatever the format, each applicant is able to engage fully with their mini pupillage in order to obtain the best experience possible.
How to apply
All applications for mini pupillage should be made by email.
