Travel & International Law

Chambers’ Travel & International Law team are specialists in cross-border litigation.

Members of the team act in the full spectrum of claims, ranging from Fast Track trials in the County Court through to cases resulting from catastrophic injuries or high value commercial disputes heard in the High Court and appellate courts.

Members of Chambers are regularly instructed to advise or appear in cases involving disputes as to jurisdiction and choice of law. All members of the team are recognised by clients for their extensive experience of personal injury litigation, dealing with claims involving, but not limited to:

  • The application of the Package Travel Regulations;
  • Product liability;
  • Clinical negligence in procedures carried out overseas;
  • Foreign employer’s liability;
  • Fatal accidents overseas;
  • Accidents on board aircraft where the Montreal convention is engaged;
  • Accidents on board ship where the Athens convention is engaged;
  • Road traffic accidents abroad;
  • Accidents arising out of sporting activities abroad;
  • Contractual disputes between insurers or holiday providers.

Our Members are particularly well placed given the overlap with Chambers’ complimentary areas of expertise to include personal injury, clinical negligence, health and safety, professional negligence, commercial and insurance litigation.

Our recently refurbished facilities in chambers allow us to facilitate conferences, round table meetings and mediations. A number of members of the Travel & International Law team are also members of our mediation and arbitration teams.

Our conference rooms are fully equipped to facilitate participation at meetings in Chambers with witnesses or interested parties based overseas.
