Dr Lindsey Hogg

Lindsey joined Farrar’s Building after successfully completing her Probationary Tenancy.  She appears in court on a daily basis and has been instructed in cases on the fast-track and small claims track.  Her practice focuses on road traffic, credit hire, and personal injury, with a particular interest in noise induced hearing loss where she has been instructed by both claimants and defendants.  She accepts instructions in a variety of procedural applications within these areas of law.  Lindsey also undertakes regulatory work and is instructed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

In addition to her court work, Lindsey is developing a paperwork practice. She accepts instructions to advise on liability and quantum, as well as drafting pleadings, schedules, and counter schedules.

Prior to joining Farrar’s Building, Lindsey undertook her pupillage on the Western Circuit, where she was instructed in Small Claims for both claimants and defendants.  She attended Infant Approvals and Stage 3 Hearings, as well as recording numerous successes in various civil procedure applications.  Lindsey has also accepted instructions in Fast Track hearings.  She has drafted advices on quantum for infant approval hearings, and was joint-instructed on a multi-track TOLATA case where she was required to draft the case summary and directions.

Lindsey completed the BPTC in Manchester, and was called to the Bar in July 2021 by the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, having received the Uthwatt Scholarship. Prior to 2021, Lindsey boasts a wealth of experience which she brings to her practice.

Lindsey read law at the University of Manchester where she volunteered at the Legal Advice Centre providing advice to members of the public in a range of legal disputes.  She then completed a Masters in Medical Law at the University of Liverpool achieving a distinction.  Prior to her pupillage, she undertook a PhD at Lancaster University: ‘A critical discussion of living minors as tissue donors for transplantation purposes in England and Wales, and Scotland’; she also lectured undergraduate law students, published articles in both legal and medical journals, and presented her research at conferences.  In addition, Lindsey has undertaken volunteer work at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service where she provided support to unrepresented doctors at General Medical Council disciplinary hearings.

Personal Injury

Lindsey is developing a busy personal injury practice. In court, she appears in fast-track trials, quantum-only disposals, Stage 3 hearings, and infant approvals.  Lindsey will also advise on and settle pleadings in matters involving road traffic accidents, occupiers’ liability, employers’ liability, and Highways Act claims.

Industrial Disease

Lindsey is developing a practice in industrial disease, in particular in noise induced hearing loss, and is happy to be instructed in any aspect of industrial disease claims for either claimants or defendants.

Credit Hire

Lindsey is regularly instructed in credit hire matters for both claimants and defendants and is well versed on emerging case law in this area. She is adept in handling all aspects of credit hire, including cases concerning profit earning vehicles.

Clinical Negligence

Lindsey has an interest in clinical negligence and is keen to continue to develop her practice in this area.

Civil Fraud

Lindsey is happy to accept instructions from claimants and defendants where issues of fraud or fundamental dishonesty arise, both in road traffic accident claims and personal injury claims in general.

Regulatory & Disciplinary

Lindsey is interested in all aspects of regulatory law. She has gained particular experience and training through the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and is instructed to act for the regulator.

Lindsey is a competitive sabre fencer who has won national competitions and represented three universities.
