Olivia Kirk (Pupil)

Olivia started pupillage in October 2025 and is currently under the supervision of John Brown. She is obtaining experience in Chambers’ core areas including Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence.

Olivia previously worked as a judicial assistant to the Lady Chief Justice in the Court of Appeal (2024-2025).

As a judicial assistant, Olivia worked on some of the most high-profile and prominent public and criminal law appeals at the time, including R v Urfan Sharif & Ors [2025] EWCA Crim 372, Hallam & Ors v R [2025] EWCA Crim 199 (‘Just Stop Oil’ sentencing appeals), Constance Marten & Anor v R [2025] EWCA Crim 241, and ABJ v R and BDN v R [2024] EWCA Crim 1597 (concerning s12(1A) Terrorism Act; due to be heard in the Supreme Court). Olivia also worked on Al Haq v Secretary of State for Business and Trade [2025] EWHC 1615 (appeal against UK Government’s decision to sell F-35 fighter jets to Israel).

Olivia graduated from the Bar Practice Course (BPC) with an Outstanding grade, and a Distinction in an integrated Master of Laws (LLM). She previously obtained a Distinction in the PGDL, an MSc in International Relations with Distinction, and a BA in History from University College London. Throughout her academic career she has received numerous accolades, including for the highest cohort marks for both of her Masters’ dissertations.

Personal Interests


An avid traveller, Olivia’s volunteer work for the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation charity has taken her to 40 American states. This summer, Olivia was pleased to have attended her 10th international fundraising event for the charity, in Arizona.
